How the Listening Post Works

This page explains what happens when you use the Listening Post — simply and directly. There’s no process to follow and nothing to prepare. This is just an overview, so you can decide whether it feels right for you.

When You Use the Listening Post

When you enter the Listening Post, you arrive in a private conversation space. You type whatever is on your mind — or nothing at all.  The system responds by listening carefully and offering gentle prompts that help you explore your thoughts more fully, without pushing toward conclusions.

Nothing happens unless you choose to continue. There is no prompt to move forward and no expectation to finish anything.

What the Conversation is Like

The conversation moves at your pace. Responses are calm and grounded. They respond to what you’ve written without judging or correcting it, and without pushing toward answers.

You decide where the conversation goes and when it ends.

What You Control

You remain in control the entire time. You decide:

  • when to start
  • what to talk about
  • how long to stay
  • when to stop

You can pause, leave, or return whenever you choose.

What Happens Behind the Scene

The Listening Post uses AI to support the conversation. It is private by design.

No one has access to your conversations. They are not read, reviewed, monitored, or shared, and they are not used to train future systems. Nothing becomes part of a medical or VA record.

If you want to experience this directly, you can enter the Listening Post.

If This Isn’t Useful

If the Listening Post doesn’t feel helpful, you can simply stop. There’s no follow-up, no notification, and no consequence. You don’t owe anything to the system, and nothing follows you after you leave.

This space is available — not obligatory.

You decide how — and whether — to use it.
