The Listening Post is a quiet, private space created for people who want a moment to pause, reflect, and hear their own thoughts more clearly.
This page is written for Veterans who are curious about what that might feel like — and who want to understand, plainly and without pressure, what this space is and what it is not.
Nothing here is required. Nothing is monitored. Nothing is expected.
Why This Space Exists
Many people carry a lot inside — thoughts that don’t always have a clear place to land.
The Listening Post exists to offer a simple alternative: a private conversation space where you can put things into words, at your own pace, without being judged, corrected, or directed.
It isn’t designed to lead you anywhere. It’s designed to help you hear yourself more clearly.
What the Listening Post Is
This is a one-to-one conversation space you can use whenever you choose. It’s calm and unhurried, and it responds by listening rather than advising. It’s meant to help you hear your own thinking more clearly, without pushing toward decisions, conclusions, or outcomes.
You decide what to talk about, how long to stay, and when to stop.
What the Listening Post Is Not
The Listening Post is not therapy, counseling, medical treatment, or crisis support. It does not diagnose, evaluate, or replace care you already have.
It is not monitored, reviewed, or assessed by people. You decide what you bring into the space. There is no requirement to talk about anything in particular.
Your Privacy Comes First!
Privacy isn’t a feature here — it’s foundational. No one reads your conversations. Nothing you write is shared, reported, or added to a medical or VA record. Conversations are not used to train future systems, and you may delete them at any time.
What you share stays only with you.
When This Space Might Be Useful
Some Veterans find a space like this helpful when thoughts feel crowded or hard to sort through, when they want to reflect without explaining themselves to someone else, or when they’re thinking through a decision or transition.
There is no right reason to be here.
You Decide How — and Whether — to Use It
You are always in control. You can use the Listening Post once or often, stop at any time, and leave without consequence. There’s nothing to prepare and no follow-up expected.
If it’s helpful, you’re welcome to return. If it isn’t, you can simply move on.
